Easy Fruit Smoothie

Jump to Recipe

My kids came home from my in-laws house last weekend requesting smoothies. I made a few tweaks to my mother-in-law’s concoction and have come up with a quick and easy fruit smoothie that is kid approved!

This smoothie is just 4 ingredients that are easy to keep on hand. Serve for a quick breakfast, a snack or a sweet treat! My kids think they are getting a treat every time I make them.

For an adult, you could easily add collagen peptides or some protein powder to the smoothie, but I would not add those for kids.

You can use any frozen berry medley variety. The one I buy has blackberries, raspberries and strawberries.

If you are looking for a new blender, I love our Black and Decker. We had an expensive fancy one that didn’t last. We replaced it with a cheaper one and I love it. Here is a link to one similar to mine. I can’t find my exact one online! I do not think you need a fancy blender for a good smoothie.

I am going to try to make a batch of these smoothies and freeze them to see how they thaw out in the mornings for an easy grab and go breakfast or after school snack for the kids.

Enjoy!

Can I make this using skim milk? And how much does this make?

    • Angie | 13th Jan 20

Yes! You can absolutely use skim milk.
I edited the recipe to add serving size! Makes 24 oz total, 6 oz/serving.

What about sugar content? Love the idea of freezing — hope that works out. Thanks.

And LOVE your blog an instagram. Thank you!!!

      Great question!
Sugar content — about 14 grams/serving. The only ADDED sugars is from the original almond milk. You could use an unsweetened milk to cut that back to 12 grams of sugar/serving. Fruit is higher in sugar. When buying frozen fruit. Make sure to read the label and buy one with ZERO added sugars.
