Wellness Wednesday: Stress Relief

How do you manage your stress? What do you do for yourself when times get stressful? 

First, give yourself grace. Lower your expectations. Do what makes you happy. Drink water. And don’t forget to breathe. 

I am not going to pretend that I always deal with my stress in the best ways. I have nights when I don’t sleep or days when I don’t nourish my body well. Since I can’t always escape to the beach, my ultimate stress reliever, I have compiled a list of what helps me. 

Stress Relief Ideas

  • Take a walk.
  • Get outside.
  • Make a gratitude list.
  • Call family.
  • Bake.
  • Have a dance party.
  • Make a gift for a friend or neighbor.
  • Turn off the news.
  • Put the phone down.
  • Drink water.
  • Lift weights.
  • Eat a healthy meal.
  • Say no.
  • Set boundaries.
  • Laugh.
  • Deep breathe.
  • Yoga.
  • Listen to a podcast.
  • Watch reality TV.
  • Play outside with the kids.
  • Work a puzzle.
  • Play a board game.
  • Apply a face mask.
  • Paint nails.
  • Go get ice cream.
  • Take a drive.
  • De-clutter.
  • Organize.
Make a gift for a friend or a neighbor!

Remember, don’t be so hard on yourself during times of stress. Give yourself grace. Ask for help. And hang in there. Life is tough, but so are you.

    I have found that living with less clutter helps my daily stress level tremendously. Also, add prayer and meditation to your list. A few quiet moments to express gratitude for what you have works wonders for me!
