A few weeks ago, I decided to stocked our freezer. We have a small deep freezer in our garage that we originally used to store breast milk for both our children. Now, we use it to stock up with our favorites! My children think it should be filled with ice cream and popsicles. I can’t say that I blame them!
During our current times, I am trying to go to the grocery store less and also depend less on drive-thru and take-out.
First, I do want to recognize how fortunate that we are to be able to stock our freezer. Not to be a “Debbie-downer” on this post, but the number of Americans that are experiencing food insecurity is truly devastating. Just yesterday, my husband and I discussed looking up shelters and foodbanks to donate to this winter. If you are able, I encourage you to do this too.
A big way that we save money is to eat at home. We rarely eat out and most of the meals we eat at home are very cost effective!
So, let’s break it down by meals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options! I have included some pictures so you know what you are looking for at the store! All items are found at Kroger or Trader Joe’s. To find out more of my favorites from Trader Joe’s, check out THIS post.
And you know what? Eat breakfast for dinner OR dinner for breakfast. It’s really up to you!
I like to keep a few of these options on hand for busy nights. You know those nights that you have dinner planned, but dinnertime gets there and you run out of time? Or you don’t feel like cooking what you had planned? Grabbing something out of the freezer is a much easier option!
I hope this post gave you come ideas to keep on hand in the freezer! Share your favorites with me in the comments.
Hang in there, friends.
XOXO,
Angie
